Priyanka Chopra’s wedding was nothing less than a royal wedding for the fans of the Bollywood actress and her pop star fiance Nick Jonas. The couple has a massive following throughout the world and their wedding was like the perfect blend of the East and the West. They got married in two different ceremonies keeping their Hindu and Christian roots in mind. The couple had a Hindu ceremony with different rituals and events that went on for a few days and of course a Christian ceremony too. They also had a number of different receptions with their numerous friends and connections.
Now even though it has been more than a year since their wedding, the Nickyanka wedding madness is less than over and will have a last lap with a TV series that is inspired from it. It does sound weird at first but let me explain. The couple had an elaborate Sangeet ceremony as one of the events in their week long wedding in India and we are about to get a good glimpse of it in a new TV series that will feature other engaged couples and their pre wedding rituals.
The show will be inspired by the idea of a sangeet ceremony and the couple came up with the concept while re-watching their own wedding videos. “We rewatched the video of our Sangeet last week on our first anniversary, and the togetherness of our family and friends during this event still sparks the same warmth and excitement that it did just over a year ago at our wedding,” said Priyanka. “The Sangeet is a centuries-old Indian wedding tradition that not only celebrates the union of two people, but also signifies the introduction and bonding of two families coming together in a marriage.”
For those who don’t know what a Sangeet ceremony is, it is a function where the families and friends of the bride and groom compete in a singing and dancing competition. It is highly inspired by Bollywood movies and is nothing less than one itself. We are sure that Priyanka and her family must have put on a great show but it will be interesting to see how the Jonas family members give a good fight to the Indians. Seeing how the Jonas brothers are one hell of a musical combo, it is safe to say that they would have stood their ground easily and given a tough fight for sure.
So the Nickyanka Sangeet ceremony will soon be turned into an Amazon series along with some other engaged couples and their fans will be able to experience the event too. As per an official synopsis of the show, “The series is a celebration of the love, marriage, and magic that ensues when friends and family come together through music and dance the evening before the wedding. The engaged couples featured throughout will hail from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds and locations.” So there is not just the Nickyanka wedding but some other lucky couples will also feature in the series making it even more interesting.
