Chhapaak
Starting the year off with a bold and important role is the extremely talented and graceful Deepika Padukone. With Chhapaak, she is going to be portraying the role of an acid attack survivor Lakshmi who went on to fight for justice and emerged victorious. The film is directed by Meghna Gulzar who last came out with Raazi which was an amazing piece of cinema. Chhapaak releases 10th of January, 2020.
Panga
Another female led inspiring story coming out this year in January itself is Kangana Ranaut’s Panga which is the story of a former Kabaddi player who makes a comeback after many years when she is a mother and wife. The story is inspiring and will definitely resonate with a lot of mothers and women in general. Starting the year off with Panga, Kangana is going to give us a sports cum family film and we can’t wait. So get ready for Panga as it hits the screens on 24th January, 2020.
Tanhaji: the unsung warrior
If you are a fan of historical epics then Ajay Devgn is all set to come out with a Maratha war story with Tanhaji and it does look very promising from what we have seen in the trailers. Also starring Saif Ali Khan and Kajol in main roles, Tanhaji has a good chance of success at the box office seeing how many films on Maratha history have been made in the past few years. The film comes out on January 10th and we suggest you mark the date for this one.
The True Story of Gunjan Saxena – The Kargil Girl
There is another biopic just around the corner and this time it is led by Jahnvi Kapoor who is playing the role of Gunjan Saxena, the first Indian air force woman pilot who went to war. The film is much awaited and will give a great opportunity to Jahnvi Kapoor to stretch her acting muscles as it might be a heavy weight film. The film comes out on March 13, 2020 and we are excited about this one for sure.
Angrezi Medium
Remember the 2017 comedy starring Irfan Khan called Hindi medium? Well, the film is getting a spinoff this year with Angrezi medium which again stars Irfan Khan along with the extremely talented Kareena Kapoor who has just started her year with another comedy film Good Newzz. The first look of the film has been released and we can’t wait to laugh out loud with this one. The film is set to release on March 20, 2020.
